eBook Compilers
For the past year we have tried to locate free eBook compilers. Although
most of the programs we have located on the web are shareware- offering a
trial of the software- we have found a few that are promising.
* eBook Creator is an HTML complier that is easy to use, and free to
try. Easy Distribution: Each eBook is a self-contained .exe application
program. Unlimited eBooks, royalty free, simple interface, easy-to-use,
complete help documentation. Also featured is a step-by-step tutorial
explaining every menu option, every command, every feature, and every button
in an easy-to-understand language. The developer "Jimmy D. Brown" offers an
iron clad guarantee on his product, this program can be used 10 times before
registration is required.
* Jans Freeware has several programs (HTML and PDF) that are still
Freeware, and are simple to use, although the features list is sparse. The
HTML version allows you to compile an eBook that displays in a format very
similar to your internet browser. Features aside, it is FREE, and for those
on a budget, Jans Freeware - SBookBuilder 10 - is the way to go.
* Neevia Technology offers a free on-line PDF file converter. No
special software is needed. The conversion takes place on-line or they can
email you the converted .PDF file. There is a 1 MB file size limitation so
make sure you do not upload files that are over this limit. Also featured
are encryption and/or a watermark. Dozens of supported file formats make
this a sure bet for your PDF self-publishing needs.
It is our opinion, that for those of us looking for free alternatives, the
last two should be on every eBook/self publishers desktop. Be sure to visit
our tools page for additional FREE eBook Self-Publishing
tools and eBooks to guide you on your journey.
