Step 3.
You will need an avenue with which to sell your ebooks
1)
Ebay
Registration with eBay is simple and free. You can list your
eBook and accept Paypal as your payment processor. You can email the
purchased ebooks to your customers or you can direct them to your
website to download the ebook from your web page.

2) Your own site
If you plan to start your own website to sell your ebooks you can
search the internet for
free webhosting or
web hosts (either of these are performed in google).
A site that allows for comparisons of hosting companies is
Free Webhosts This site allows you to view whether the
prospective host requires ads, what types of scripting is allowed,
how much web space you are allowed, and also includes user reviews.
A very handy site for web host shoppers!
There are numerous web host providers offering many different
packages. What you choose will depend upon what software you create
your site with. For instance, if you use Netscape Navigator you will
want a host that allows you to transfer your files using an ftp
program if they do not already provide you will the means to
transfer files to your site. If you use MS FrontPage you will want a
host that has FrontPage extensions enabled. (FP extensions are not
required to use FrontPage to publish your web pages, but is required
for FrontPage components to function (forms, etc)). Some web hosts
will provide you with an on-site web page builder (such as tripod
and geocities).
You may have the option to host your site on a domain that you
currently own or on a subdomain of the web host. Often the fee to
register a new domain name is included in the hosting package setup
fees or built in to the monthly rates. Be sure to get a thorough
understanding of what you need, and then begin your searching for a
host.
Rates vary as do the packages. There are hosts that offer free
web space but they rely on ads to generate income from your site.
Some hosts will charge a low one-time or annual rate but usually the
web space is small (5 - 25 Mb)
There are many different payment processors, and shopping cart
vendors.
Paypal is easy to set up and affordable - a fee is charged on
each sale.
Godaddy provides free
website hosting when you purchase a domain name through them.
Considerations:
- How much space will you need? Will you be offering downloads
from your web site? You will need more space if you plan to
offer downloads.
- Do you want the host's pop up or banner ads appearing on
your web pages?
- Will you want to generate income from your site via ads?
Make sure the host allows your ads.
- What type of scripting, if any, will your site require? ie.
.asp, javascript, php, cgi, ssi, perl, frontpage extensions,
python.
- Make sure to read the host's terms of service or terms of
use policies so that you are in compliance with them otherwise
the host can shut down your site without notice.
- How much can you afford to pay for hosting?
- How will you accept payments?
